Game Spotlight: Second NCC Online Tournament 3
Looking again at the second Nairobi Chess Club tournament on Chess.com, this game shows a couple of important points. First, many club players trade reflexively. This can be a problem — you are never forced to make a trade, and it’s often worth waiting for your opponent to trade if recapturing helps your pieces get into better positions. Also, if it looks like you’re heading towards an endgame, be very careful about weakening your pawn structure.
