Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: The Lasker Trap

The Lasker trap, named after the World Champion Emmanuel Lasker, is a trap which occurs in the aggressive Albin counter-gambit. The curiosity of this trap is the exotic promotion of a pawn in move 7. The position of white pieces after the trap is depressing.

4.e3 was the initial mistake. A more usual way trying to win the black pawn on d4 is with 4.Nf3.
