The Noah Ark’s trap happens in a variation of the Ruy Lopez, when a chain of black pawns traps the ‘spanish bishop’.
This trap mainly appears in games between beginners. It is extremely improbable to see it in today’s top-level tournaments. Nevertheless, Capablanca, playing black against Steiner, trapped his opponent’s bishop with this trap in the tournament of Budapest, 1929.
