Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: Kostic Trap

The Kostic Gambit is an early deviation of the Italian Game. This Gambit is called after a Servian master of the same name.
Already in the third move, Black offers a pawn. If White takes the pawn, then Black has the chance for a quick and devastating attack over the kingside.

White is not forced to take the bait because there are other moves available with which achieve a comfortable advantage. But in games against beginners the attraction of quickly winning some material results disastrous.
