In a past post, I presented the Fishing Pole. In this post, I will show you a variation of it. White decides not to take the bait. Instead, he/she continues developing pieces. Black takes the opportunity to approach his/her pieces to the kingside.
This variations of the Fishing Pole happens in the exchange variation of the Ruy Lopez. This variation is usually played by players looking for a calm play. For them, setting this variation of the Fishing Pole will be surely an annoyance.
