Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: Budapest Trap
The Budapest Gambit is a surprise weapon for fighting against the Queen Gambit.
The usual sequence of moves is: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e5.
In today’s trap, White alters the order and plays 2.Nd2, which allows Black to set a trap with a deadly end.
As you will probably argue, White can avoid this trap with accurate play. But even then, Black has different options to keep the pressure on the black e5-pawn.
The 2019 Nairobi Chess Club Open Championship has been announced for August 23-25. For the first time, we’re trying some crowdfunding to help pay for the venue, tables, prize fund, and so forth. If you can help out, please do so “here”.
