Game Spotlight: 2019 Le Pelley Cup 3

During the Le Pelley Cup, I came across the following game in progress.  It was the endgame, Black had a pawn advantage in a Rook endgame, and I quickly thought he could just take the opportunity presented to trade off a pair of pawns and the result should be an easy win.  Except on thinking about it further, things are nowhere near that simple.  Let’s go on a deep dive into this endgame, as it’s quite instructive.

This weekend is the second of the Kenya Chess Premier League, and Nairobi Chess Club’s team will be there.  This prestigious tournament will be taking place at Kenyatta University.  Good luck to our team!
