Today’s trap is known as the Krejcik queen trap. As the name indicates, the result is to trap the queen.

In the following game, the queen is surprisingly trapped in 6 moves!!

Even more surprising is the fact that the same trap occurred in a second game played by the same players and … also in 6 moves!!!
But this time with reverse colours.

This trap happened in a blitz competition and between two inexperienced players. It is an unusual trap and you will never see a trapped queen so early in a serious tournament.
