The Philidor Defence (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6) is an old opening and rarely used in top competition. Instead of developing a piece to defend the e5-pawn, Black chooses d6. This is not a developing move because no piece moves but opens a way for further developing the Q-bishop.

There is always a sense of frustration when seeing these type of traps early in the game.
