Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: Scholar’s Mate

Time ago, someone told me that knowing opening traps is the best way for learning chess. I disagree, but I recognise that knowing traps and succeed in setting them to your opponents makes a lot of fun. In order to you not to be an involuntary victim of chess traps, I will be bringing to this section traps that can appear in any opening, even famous traps in which GM fall down. Be aware!!

Even if this trap never appears in chess tournaments, it is an example of what can happen when acting ‘mechanically’ according to opening rules (i.e.”piece development”) without asking ourselves: “why my opponent played this move?”.
