Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: Pawn Trap
In previous posts, we have seen the danger of the poisoned pawn. The most popular appears in the Sicilian Defence, Najdorf Variation. That was Bobby Fischer’s favourite line.
In another post, we saw a similar motif in the Caro Kann Defence, Advance Variation. Today’s trap occurred also in the same line of the Caro Kann but the pawn is offered by Black.
White could have avoided this trap if he had played according to the general rules of the opening.
