What happens when a player neglects the development of his/her pieces?

In some degree, any chess player has been told about the importance of developing pieces in the opening.

But there are special openings where our opponent gives some material up in order to leave us behind in the development. Those openings are the ‘gambits’.

Today’s game is a good example White offers a pawn right in the third move to open lines and start a strong attack.

Black makes the mistake of playing 8…e5 too soon…

The Morra Gambit is unsound in theory but excellent for aggressive players.
