Traps, Tricks & Mistakes: Losing Sight of Opponent’s Plan

Mistakes often come from being extremely focused on one’s own plan and losing sight of that of our opponent’s.
In today’s game, Black seemed so confident in his combination that he didn’t pay too much attention to his opponent’s plan.
As a result, he neglected the defence of his king and lost the game.

A chess game is a dialogue. Each side has to be attentive at what the other side is saying.
