Membership entitles you to the following benefits;

Free use of the club’s facilities.

Free attendance to the planned chess lectures.

Discounted entry fee to Nairobi Chess Club tournaments.

Chess Kenya Federation (CKF) affiliated membership for the year 2022 at a favorable rate of KES 500. The entry fee for CKF members for the just concluded 2021 Kenya National Championship was KES 1,500, while non-members paid KES 3,000.

Calendar of events

The four major traditional events for the club will take place as follows;

11th Capablanca Cup – 19th & 20th February 2022. 

5th Le Pelley Cup – 26th & 27th March 2022.

64th Nairobi Chess Club Championship – 26th, 27th & 28th August 2022.

6th Jamhuri Cup – 27th & 28th November 2022.

Some exciting new events planned for 2022 include a U1600 event and a junior event. A training schedule is also being drawn up, and the details released shortly.

Club re-opening

The club will reopen after the Xmas break on 15th January 2022.

The club timings are as follows;

Every Saturday from 2pm to 6pm.

Every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.

Club venue remains the Goan Gymkhana Club which is located on Ngara Road, (next to Aga Khan Nursery School).  Do not confuse with Nairobi Gymkhana which is located on Forest Road!
